It is 9:30. Where is everybody?
Facebook. Or taking a family vacation because they’ve run out of camps.
We’re very busy trying to convince our kids that yes, school starts a week from Monday.
Alright, I need a handyperson to finish a plaster kitchen ceiling. Thanks!
Is pressure-washing-guy still around? How do I get in touch with him?
Also, we need a plumber to do a simple (for a plumber) bathroom sink replacement. Any recommendations would be welcome!
And I need advice on window replacement. Please!
I like Window World of Atlanta. They had the best prices and service of 4 companies I got quoted from. That was a few years ago but since then I have heard others say similar things about them.
If you’re looking for something fun to do with your family, the Scholastic Summer Reading Road Trip will be at the Rec Center tomorrow from 3 to 6pm. Kids and families will be able to take photos with Clifford the Big Red Dog, enjoy prizes and giveaways, meet some of their favorite authors and illustrators, and engage in fun reading crafts and activities. Joining us on this tour are Natalie Lloyd (A Snicker of Magic), Jackson Pearce (Pip Bartlett’s Guide to Magical Creatures), and Walter Wick (Hey, Seymour!). We hope to see you out on the square as we continue our summer-long celebration of reading!

I’m so proud of our local and school community. In just 2 days, 76 people have contributed to the fund for the CSD family of the man who was murdered in their City of Decatur apartment building while taking his wife to work. Anyone who wants to help the fund meet its goal of expressing condolences and helping in a small way to defer the costs associated with this tragedy, can go to the gofundme website and search on “Help Family of Murdered Neighbor”.
That link is here: https://www.gofundme.com/decaturmurder

Almost midnight and only 10 posts today (Friday). Is this a new record? Maybe nothing is going on.
Trump broke the internet last week.
the mall of sadness & low self-esteem (i.e. north dekalb mall) is even sadder now.
rack room shoes—GONE! as is ross. with the exception of marshall’s and the
movie theater, there isn’t much left in there anymore. sure hope the winds of change
will blow soon.
I think they’re allowing all the current leases to lapse so that the new management can turn it over to the people who are supposed to develop it into an upscale “outdoor shopping center”, a la The Avenue. I just hope they get some good stores back into the place when they’re done–and I really hope the Costco rumors (for the old Macy’s space) are true!
With Rack Room Shoes gone at North DeKalb and the Toco Hill discount Shoe Center gone, are there any discount shoe Centers within striking distance of COD? The nearest I know of now is DSW in either Atlantic Station or Buckhead, neither of which locations appeal to me.
Another unappealing DSW location is Dunwoody.
I notice that MARTA moved the #36 bus stop from Church St to the Swanton Way loop, where it should have been all along IMO.
Sweet. Having that stop on Church totally killed the dining experience at Calle Latina. Diesel fumes, loud engine idling, and intimate dinners don’t mix well at all.
I know. Plus the traffic issue and the fact that buses has to come around Trinity and go right by the loop anyway. I don’t know why they ever put it the to begin with.
It is about time!
I never understood why they originally stated that there was “no room” at Swanton Way. More than one bus route can share a “bus slot” — it isn’t like they are all there at the same time.
