Where & what is Chai Pani? Pardon my ignorance and obvious lack of culture and/or hipness.

I own no stock in Chai Pani – but it is a favorite of mine – next to Farm Burger. Here is the website: http://chaipanidecatur.com

This is the rebuilding of Gateway Apts. I think it is getting a new name. Gateway was there long before Chai Pani or Farm Burger, so those places are behind Gateway, not the other way around.

It’s the place in front of Chai Pani.

      Totally off topic: Anyone have an idea why the MARTA trains   s l o w   d o w n   s o   m u c h   when crossing the bridge above these apartments?

I remember hearing once that it was part of the deal when choosing to send the line through downtown Decatur. Since not all of the line would be underground, the neighbors insisted that it slow down for noise and safety concerns. Not sure how accurate my source was (wherever I heard it).

You are correct from an authoritative source several years ago.

Yet the biggest noise it makes is the toot-toot on the horn when it emerges from the tunnel.
