Living in this area, and driving by when this all went down (with no clue), I can tell you that the collective police group was amazing! Agnes Scott even had the security vehicles out. Thanks to all that protect and serve!

Yes, indeed, thank you so much to all our brave public servants. I was on a run (note that I was on “a run” and not “the run”!) in the neighborhood when this was happening. It sure looked scary to me!

you would think criminals would have the good sense not to practice their trade in Decatur. the city has a small footprint, DPD’s response time is very fast, quality of the force and their solve rate is above average . . .

assuming there is some rationale, maybe they’re here because this is a target rich environment, and once you get outside of the city limits, jurisdictional confusion comes into play.

yeah, that’s it, these young crims are sipping on their 40z, plotting targets on their iPads, and talking about how to exploit “jurisdictional confusion”.

The way I read it, the capture was outside the city.

The Midway Road capture happened at a house in the city limits. (I just happened to be traveling by as it was all going down.)

No, they’re plotting targets on your iPad.

Joking aside, I wouldn’t underestimate the savviness of criminals.

Depending on where exactly it happened, it could’ve been in the city. Part of Oldfield is in the COD. Also, google maps indicates that Kirk Road is between the 700 block of South Columbia and Oldfield. All of Kirk is in the COD.

Thanks to our brave public servants! This could have ended badly, and cross-jurisdiction coordination and rapid response probably had allot to do with successfully capturing these armed suspects.

      Great job and thank you!

Yikes! Was wondering about all the police in the Columbia Presbyterian parking lot. Thanks to DeKalb, Decatur, Columbia Seminary and Agnes Scott for their good work!
