“Splash of Olive” Coming to the Artisan

    Decatur Metro | June 24, 2014 | 9:00 am

Gwyneth and Robert point out a new shop that’s hung signs in the window of the Artisan retail location next to Ted’s along Commerce Drive. Splash of Olive’s website only states what’s also shown on the sign, that they will be a “purveyor of fine olive oils and vinegar”.

Those must be expensive splashes for a business to make a profit on them. Or maybe growlers will be sold too?

There is a great little store in Pinehurst, NC (Green Gate Olive Oils: http://www.greengateoliveoils.com/ ) that sells olive oil & balsamic vinegars. If this place is anything like that, I’m hooked!
Blood Orange Olive Oil and Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar – our family favorites.

PMcG, check out Strippagio at Emory Point (same complex as The General Muir). They have olive oils and vinegars setup similar to Greengate’s. Here’s their website: http://strippaggioevoo.com/

She’s also been selling (at least on Wednesday) at the Decatur Farmer’s Market.

I believe she’s opening at Ponce City Market in lieu of Krog.

          “Strippagio”

          Gentlemen’s club?

Strippaggio is the Italian term used to describe how to properly taste extra virgin olive oil.

Oooo–sounds lovely! Looking forward to it. Hope they actually sell olives as well as the oils, too…
