Tickets Still Available for This Afternoon’s Performance of “Hairspray: The Musical” at DHS

    Decatur Metro | March 23, 2014

The Decatur Education Foundation’s Gail Rothman asked us to pass along word that tickets are still available for this afternoon’s DHS performance of “Hairspray: the Musical”.  More info below!

YES! Tickets are still available for the FINAL PERFORMANCE of the Decatur High School production of Hairspray: the Musical at the DHS Performing Arts Center TODAY (Sunday, March 23) at 2:00pm.   The Box Office opens at 1:00pm and tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students (cash only).

Set in Baltimore in 1962, this Tony Award-winning musical introduces us to the loveable, plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad who has only one desire — to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network, all without denting her ‘do!’  The performers have played to sold out audiences and standing ovations for the past two nights so don’t miss your chance to see these incredibly talented students in this fun and fabulous production!

We went Friday night and it was amazing!!! The kids are so talented…the actors, the musicians, the crew, light and sound technicians, set designers…ALL DHS students! I was so impressed! I took my 5 year old and she has been begging to go back.

      If you haven’t been, GO!

I’ve been twice! This was a great vehicle for wonderful DHS students to show their talent and spirit, a ton of fun, and a perfect fit for the Decatur, given its history. Hurry up and see it before it’s gone!
