From Decatur PD…
On Friday, August 30, 2013, the Decatur Police Department responded to and began investigating three armed robberies of students as they left the Decatur High School football game. Investigators have identified and arrested three suspects in these cases.
[edited: though some of news outlets have published the suspects names, we will not. They include one16 year old and two 17 year olds.]
The Decatur Police Department would like to thank the Marta Police Department, Atlanta Police Department and DeKalb County Police Department for all of the assistance we have received over the past three weeks.
The Decatur Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a fourth suspect. If you recognize this suspect or have any information, please contact the Decatur Police Department at or Crime Stoppers at 404/577-TIPS (8477).

16 and 17? Great, they’ll be out in time for next week’s game. In all seriousness, kudos to the fine job by the DPD and their partners.
The sixteen year old is a juvenile, but the other two will go to adult court. Plenty of 17 y.o.s have gotten ten years for armed robbery if they have a previous record. And in Georgia I believe armed robbery is one of the crimes that require at least 90% of the sentence to be served.
Yeah DPD!!!!
Is there a photo to recognize?
Never mind, now I can see it. Congrats and thanks to DPD.
BTW, it looks like a Hollywood opening over there at DHS Stadium tonight between news crews, lights, and police. And lots of folks attending. Bulldog fans aren’t going to let thugs or bag checks stop them!
Alright! Now, EVERYONE NEEDS TO GIVE DPD THEIR PROPS! There were lots of posts telling these folks how to do their jobs and general wringing of hands, gnashing of teeth, waxing philosophic about how “unsafe” Decatur had become! LOL, try walking through some of the streets in Decatur after dark in the 1980’s! They have done their job and it is obvious they will keep doing their job. Way to go Decatur’s Finest!
I heartily endorse this endorsement.
Lordy, I’m so proud of them I could bust!!! DPD ROCKS!!!
( This is whatcha call Mayberry style policing– not much talk, but a whole lottta doing! :0)
I was one of those who said they need to step up their game, and kudos to them for stepping up their game!
Now keep it up!
Congrats Decatur PD. I also love all of the cross jurisdictional cooperation- kudos to all who assisted.
congratulations DPD!
rumor has it the perps were located via Find My iPhone, and were easy spot in no. 246 sitting around a table, using the flashlight app to read their menus, and having a conversation with one another at the top of their lungs.
Nice! You are on a roll lately.
Not identifying juveniles is for the crimes of graffiti, vandalism, and skipping school. Once you pull a gun to commit theft, your claim of juvenile naivete/immature judgment goes away.
Big props to Ch 2 on their lead story Friday night:

Excellent. Now let’s get to work solving the 400+ robberies that have occurred in Dekalb County since the great iphone heist.
Arresting this crew should solve quite a few robberies. I have it on excellent authority that they kept at it until the day they were caught.
Very good to hear. I kept thinking something had to explain a sudden and concentrated crime wave. Got to find the 4th guy, right? Before he enlists younger accomplices.
They’ve been charged with some car break-ins as well.
