Red Mango on North Decatur Road Closes

    Decatur Metro | | 12:42 pm

    From Tomorrow’s News Today…

Red Mango has closed its last Atlanta location.

The frozen yogurt and smoothie shop closed their location at North Decatur Center at the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont Roads last week.
Dallas, Texas-based Red Mango, an international froyo chain, entered the market (via a local franchisee) in 2010.  The first location opened in Dunwoody in September followed by Emory / Decatur in December.   A third was slated for Howell Mill Village near Howell Mill and Collier Roads, but given troubles the existing stores were experiencing, those plans were abandoned.  (Chipotle Mexican Grill opened in the space last year)

Stopped by there last Friday evening and saw the sign on the door that it was closed and interested parties could email about leasing the space. My family frequented the location and will miss it.

I liked Red Mango but the parking in that strip center was usually impossible. I often passed it over for another froyo place.

I know what you mean. We always went there after eating at Los Loros across the street. It was an easy walk to help digest all those chips and salsa

If you passed it over for any of the 3 froyo places in the city of Decatur, then you had less ideal parking (meaning you might have had to walk a bit). Why blame parking? – other places succeed in that center even with the parking situation. So other businesses succeed with the same parking set up and other froyo places succeed with worse parking. So I don’t think parking played much of a role, if at all.

Oh No! Now there are only 1000 other froyo places in the area. My family did like it though. It seemed to go well with eating at Willy’s and browsing at Eagle Eye.

Oh I’m sad — they were my favorite for FroYo.
