      Yea Maria. You deserve this.

Anyone try the fritters? We had a couple of different things last time, but wanted to save something to try for the next. Luckily, there was not this line Friday afternoon, but everything was still warm, gooey, and fresh.

And a new Decatur tradition is born…

Thrilled for Maria. She deserves this. But amidst all the doughnut enthusiasm, hope she keeps making the scones.

Went today around 1:00, no wait. The donuts are incredibly delicious – much bigger than I expected. The coffee was also great!

An email went out tonight with a bit of info – you can also see it as an update on their Kickstarter page.

I have had several of their doughnuts over the last few weeks and have not gained weight. My theory is that they make me happy and motivate me to exercise and live well!

well congratulations, Miss Moderation 2012, some of us prefer baker’s dozens washed down by condensed milk chugged from the can.

Sorry, that was a bit obnoxious, wasn’t it? I have to confess that good genes and overwork on the home and work fronts are responsible for my nonobesity, not my stellar self-control. And, to be honest, not only have I never returned to my pre-pregnancy weight and figure, I have officially given up on that goal.

I was just trying to counteract any negative impact on Revolution sales from folks trying to stay svelte. Doughnuts are not usually my thing, i.e. just not worth spending calories on. I would contend that these doughnuts are so good that one could eat them in moderation on a regular basis and keep a svelte figure. That’s assuming a svelte figure in the first place. If not svelte already, then might as well be happy…….with doughnuts!

                not obnoxious at all.
you’d do best to take the same tactic my wife does when my mouth begins moving: ignore 75% of what i say.

Too bad the rest of the Isabella’s space isn’t big enough for a Five Guys.

      I am fat enough!!!

I heard the line was out the door, though.

    11. Demanda says:

So happy to see business booming! There was a similar line on Saturday, and they are clearly cranking out the donuts to keep up with that kind of demand.

I’m looking forward to trying other things they make, but my heart belongs to the pimento cheese scones.

        June 4, 2012 at 4:08 pm

Amen. Any of the scones, really, but the pimento cheese is the alpha and the omega of her scones.

Sugar Moon Bakery in Oakhurst (next to Kavarna).

      • New Scott says:

Both of these places are great options. My family stopped by Sugar Moon on Saturday and had some amazing cupcakes – a red velvet and a double chocolate. Also a fantastic lemon square. Plus, the women working there were extremely friendly. We will definitely be back.

Between the donuts and Cakes & Ale’s bakery, I am in trouble. (I must visit the latter at least two or three times a week.)

I didn’t like their doughnuts. There must be something wrong with me. I will remain loyal to Krispy Kreme.

      • At Home in Decatur says:
        June 5, 2012 at 12:35 pm

They are definitely a different style from Krispy Kreme. And I like them better warm out of the oven at the shop than at ambient temperature at the Farmer’s Market. There was a rotating donut fryer at my college cafeteria that spit out freshly fried, warm doughnuts constantly. Rev doughnuts remind me of those. Cakier vs French cruller style. A really good, light, airy NYC-style cruller is wonderful too. Just different.

I don’t know why I’ve been saying I don’t like doughnuts usually since I really like Rev doughnuts and French crullers and Krispy Kreme. I guess what I don’t like is stale Hostess/Little Debbie/Dolly Madison style doughnuts.

I like that. I bet they’ll sell those shirts at Walmart.
