    Pita Pit Opens Thursday

    Decatur Metro | November 30, 2010 | 12:26 pm

My wife and I saw a few Pita Pit door-hangers scattered in the street amongst the fallen leaves along Ponce Place Sunday evening, so I had a feeling this place was pretty close to opening.

Carl has posted a pic of a sign on their door that announces the “Grand Opening” will be this Thursday, December 2nd from 7a to 10p.

And in case you’re not up to speed: the shop is taking over the old Quizno’s space at the corner of the “Birds from Hell” building.  Also, you can view their menu HERE (pdf)

Makes sense. Coincides with a Terrific Thursday and the Decatur Tree Lighting.

Very solid. This place is legendary down at UF.

Does it taste better if you’re wearing jean shorts?

        (sorry…it’s involuntary at this point)

Lump…can I just say how much I love you for that question? Right on.

          Cheers from an FSU alum.

Glad to see 1 win restores 6 years of losses, mostly of the blow out variety.

It’s more of a “whew, finally.” Until this year, UF was nearly unbeatable by anyone, and they had totally owned FSU. I’m just glad we FINALLY got a win.

Pita Pit will fill the pita void but I wanted to mention that we recently tried a new “fast food” vegetarian restaurant in S. Fla. that was pita-centric called Maoz Vegetarian. Interesting, yummy and fast. Couldn’t help but think it would do well in Decatur. It was located in a food court and all the other stands were pretty empty but Maoz had a massive line.

No prices on the menu. But I hope it does well. I’m always looking at trying new places to eat around here.
