the inhumanity of flamingo destruction! (it’s adair, unless someone stole it from adair, and placed it somewhere in the vicinity of Oakhurst/Agnes Scott area….)
Yippee!! What do I win? What do I win? I knew I had seen that poor bird this morning, and just had to remember where I went….saw it on my way to the bank.
Hmm. We need better detective work. There appear to be at least two, if not three, dead plastic flamingos (flamingoes?) in this picture. I don’t remember flamingo on Coventry but I haven’t been driving that route as much as I used to. They may have been vandalized. Or they blew away in storm but no big winds lately, I don’t think. What is that yellow ?sign? across the street? Looks like the name of repair folks or renovaters, not for sale sign, don’t you think? What’s the deal with the slope of the nearest house across the street? It looks 70s modern, no? The roof line of the house further down looks more classic 21st Century Decatur renovation.
Oh and that sidewalk is in pretty good shape. Not your classic bubbled up from tree roots and construction concrete that one sees with older sidewalks.
I’m not sure those flamingos are dead , maybe just resting. A few days back, they were sprawled out on the opposite side of the street near the basketball hoop at Ponce Place and Planview.
Interestingly, I hear that displaying plastic pink flamingos in one’s yard is meant to signify that that the folks living there are swingers. My friend told me this while on a walk around our neighborhood, where there is a house that has a proud and yet strikingly out-of-place display of carefully-placed pink flamingos. No other cutesy or kitschy stuff in the yard – in fact, it’s a rather estately home, extremely well manicured lawn, etc. These folks also tend to have a lot of big parties, too, so I’m starting to put two and two together.

Adding a new element to these EOTSs: Guess the location!
East Lake between Second Ave. and Oakhurst Village. I could swear I know that flamingo.
Adair Street???
My first thought when I saw that photo: “I wonder if that’s Adair.”
Looks like I picked a good one to start with. No one’s got it yet.
it must be depressing street. that picture makes me sad!
Naturally, it’s Adair. I cannot believe somebody messed with my neighbor’s flamingo! Enraged citizen, right here.
How can it be Adair? There are barely any cars parked on this street.
And no bicycles
I think it’s the end of Drexel nearest W. Howard.

My guess is Coventry Road.
Coventry is the closest guess yet, though still not in the correct neighborhood.
Ponce Place?
Nubbs nails it!!! Nice work.

My hunch is this guy won’t be flying south for the winter.

Perhaps they are just pining for the fjords.
pining for the fjords! what kind of talk is that! look, why did he fall flat on the sidewalk when i got home?!
I was going to guess the location as somewhere near on of the Decatur pubs, as that flamingo looks absolutely legless!
also, I had to check my yard and make sure my flamingos were there. I had 4 when i put them there….alas one day last summer one disappeared.
