$5,000 Reward For Info On Malnourished Puppy Left at Village Vets

Decatur Metro | October 15, 2009

Poor pup.

WSB reports that the Humane Society of the United States has added $2,500 to the reward fund for information that helps indentify two people that dropped off a very malnourished puppy at the Village Vets in Decatur.  The total reward is now $5,000.

According to the article…

Officials said video surveillance from the clinic showed a man and a woman getting out of a black SUV and dropping off the dog at the front lobby. The woman attempted to fill out paperwork but provided false information including the alias Tamika Howard, police said.

The suspects called the puppy “Little Bit.”

A least the little guy is in good hands now. Jump over to see a few pics.

It’s possible that these two folks are the ones who rescued this poor little guy rather than the ones who starved him. It would be good to talk to them though to help find out who the culprit is.

I’m glad the little guy has gained some weight. I just hope he isn’t permanently damaged.

I like most animals better than most people so this stuff makes me crazy.

He looks very pretty, I hope he finds a loving home.

It seems most likely to me, too, that these are the people who rescued the puppy. If they were the ones who were abusing the puppy, why would they go to the trouble to bring it to the vet’s office? Maybe the puppy was dropped at their home, or maybe they just found it… please don’t rush to judgement.

this is my judgement — I love animals, but really, a $5,000 reward? Please let’s get our priorities in order — we had a kid who actually DIED, and there’s just small ripple of concern it seems … I guess high school boys aren’t as cute as puppies ….

there’s no need to set up a dichotomy like this that says anyone who expressed concern about animals doesn’t care about people. its not one versus the other. people are allowed to have concern about more than one thing at a time!
