    Yogurt Tap is Now Open

    Decatur Metro | August 13, 2009 | 11:26 am

As of 11am this morning, Yogurt Tap is open to the public.

For all those that refuse to believe it without visual evidence, Robert posted a pic of the open doors on Twitter.

The Yogurt Tap website also now has more details, including August’s flavors and toppings.  Flavors for the month include: Original Tart, Green Apple, Raspberry, Pineapple, Mango, and Dark Chocolate.

Toppings look awesome too.  Fresh fruit and Gummy bears!!  :-)

Just had a delicious original tart with fresh blackberries, dried cherries, craisins and slivered almonds for my lunch. YUM! And healthy, too. I’m so glad they are finally open! This space was empty for 16 months and it is a-buzzing right now! They have quite an opening crowd, I am happy to say.

So smart to open in time for the Book Festival and while it’s still hot. If they’re good, and it sounds like they are, they’ll have a nice solid base to begin with.

Yes, you are right. Someone better warn them about the book festival. They are gonna be slammed.

Gearin’ up for some pineapple or dark chocolate! Or maybe both (do they do swirlies???)… And dried cherries– mmmmm!

Yes– swirlies are in your future! Six flavors= three swirly possibilities. I also think you can just squirt some of each in if you like.

That’s exactly what I enjoyed there, yesterday, cubalibre, chocolate and pineapple. Kindred spirit! Very tasty. I had not had this style of frozen yogurt before, I liked it a lot. It isn’t yogurt pretending to be ice cream, it’s its own thing. People are saying it’s healthy but I didn’t see any nutrition information. The place is kind of austere but the people there were very friendly. I’ll be back. Maybe today.

Since having my heart attack and subsequent bypass, yogurt from the Yogurt Tap is my afternoon snack (actually snacks). Its fat free and the fresh fruit and nut toppings are perfect for a low fat/heart healthy diet. And.. it is just absolutely yummy!!! The owners, and their families, are also lovely people and a tremendous asset to the Decatur Community.
