315 W. Ponce Specifically Cited In 2000 Strategic Plan

    Decatur Metro | March 18, 2008 | 2:40 pm

A forward from Cherie linking to a 1999 article about Decatur’s “round tables” got me digging around for more info on what ultimately was the result of these gatherings. Here it is in all its glory: the 2000 Decatur Strategic Plan.

What I found most interesting, while thumbing through this document, is that under the recommendation for graduated set-back for C2 against R60, is a picture of residential surrounding 315 W. Ponce.

To me, this implies that the zoning change to insure a gradual building height limitation for C2 next to R60 was created specifically in the round tables with 315 W. Ponce in mind.

    Interesting, no?
