Zocalo Also Without Liquor License
Decatur Metro | January 19, 2008Those craving a Zacalo margarita have been disappointed as of late, as the Decatur Square Mexican restaurant joins a growing list of local businesses currently without a liquor license.
No word on whether this is the case at the other two Zocalo locations.
What the heck is going on?

UPDATE: AroundMidtown reports that Zocalo in Midtown is still serving alcohol.
I for one am still recovering from the trauma of not being able to get a margarita with my Mexican food. But I’m slowly putting the pieces back together. So I guess we can assume some sort of state crackdown on unpaid taxes, with liquor licenses being used as the stick? A bit short sighted, as the demise of the Angel is a real loss to that end of Decatur (and the beer loving community). And our waiter at Zocalo’s said it’s having a horrible effect on business, not to mention the size of tips.
