Jennifer Garner Movie Filming In Decatur Today
Decatur Metro | February 9, 2011From the Decatur Minute…
Although they have been filming the last week or so around Forest Hills Elementary School, “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” has offically begun shooting here in Decatur today. They will be on location all day today and then back at the end of next week to wrap up.
Anyone know where they’re filming inside the city limits?
Jump over to The Minute for an official press release with more info about “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” and its crew.
They are filming on Pinetree Dr today
Anyone know what was filming on Ponce Monday across from Paideia?
Something is filming at the church at the corner of college & mead
I think that’s just base camp for the PInetree filming.
Yes, Pinetree Dr. today and then they are supposed to move production over
to Emerson Avenue on Thursday and Friday. They will have City of Decatur Police
directing traffic and assisting residents on location all three days.
All the leaves they stuck on the bare tree limbs on Pinetree Drive to make it look like spring are gonna get snowed on tonight!
Jennifer Garner is a long-time family favorite. Rockford Files is a hoot!
There’s more filming at the school on N Druid across from Target. I think they film there every 2 weeks. It’s nuts.
Actually, I think that’s the filming for MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Call me nuts, but isnt all the filming in Ga a result of tax incentives offered to the movie industry? And what role would Californias tax and regulatory policies have in Producers picking other locations?
THese things are logistical nightmares that employ Drivers, Artists, Photogs, Caterers, yada yada yada….yeah for GA!
Who wants to go to L.A. anyway? What a toilet:

Our snow and rain this winter may hurt our reputation as a good site for winter filming. Originally Southern California became the film mecca because of the never changing weather (except for June fogs that burn off by noon and September rains). When most film was shot outdoors, consistent warm, sunny weather offered a big advantage over the former and brief movie capital, New York. Now the costs are high in Southern California plus the locale is instantly recognizable from the sidewalk address numbers to the palm trees to the dry, high desert to pale pink smoggy skies. So cheaper and more authentic places with relatively warm weather (and tax breaks?) like Georgia are competitive as film locations. But not if we have the weather we’ve been having this winter!
Filming across from Target on N. Druid is Footloose. They have been there for a while.
