Big Stars at Agnes Scott Today

May 19, 2009 | 3:27 pm

UPDATE: It seems like my tease confused people a bit as to the specifics of this.  So here it is plain and clear: Tim McGraw, Kathy Bates and Sandra Bullock are part of the filming taking place at Agnes Scott over the last few days.  Sounds like it continues today.

Rumor on Twitter is that a huge country music star and two big movie stars are filming “The Blind Side” at Agnes Scott today.

Can anyone confirm?  This site makes it sound like they’ve been filming at Agnes and all over Atlanta since at least May 13th.  Am I just catching up?

If it is true, I must try my damnedest to keep my wife away from that campus until they wrap.  :-)

A friend who lives in Grant Park said yesterday afternoon on his Facebook update that he was “sitting in Grant Central Pizza watching a movie crew shoot Sandra Bullock in the upcoming movie The Blind Side.”

Yes, some friends went to go watch a scene being filmed at Grant Park last week. Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.

Wonder if my ASC alumna stickers will get me on set? I know my charming disposition won’t.

There are definitely movie trucks of all kinds all over the campus.

I was walking to my car after my son’s swimming lesson at ASC and some glamourous looking people came out of a coach (nobody I recognized). That was immediately followed by someone asking me if I needed any helping finding anyone but it sounded like they just wanted me out of the way. I replied that we were just ordinary people walking to our car. My son and I were far more interested in all the cool trucks anyway. :-)

The signs directing crew to the site say “LTP” on them. I wonder what that’s supposed to stand for.

Holy Marzipan! It’s a football movie!

    Per the film’s IMDB page:

A poor, oversized and under-educated teenager is recruited by a major college football program where he is groomed into an athletically and academically successful NFL prospect. Based on Michael Lewis’ book, “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game.”

Warner Bros shall be distributing the film theatrically in the US.

Michael J. Fisher is the football coordinator.

    Info on the book.

    Look inside the book here.

I remember flipping through it a couple years ago at a Borders.

We (staff at ASC) we warned today not to take any pictures at the film sets. I would think that we don’t want any extra people walking around campus today–no offense, but we would not want our contract with the film execs to go awry.

Film sets are generally copyrighted items – hence no pictures.

They were filming in the Hurt Building downtown last week.

They were filming it across town near my office a few weeks ago. I got an SB sighting on my way out to my car in the afternoon. I believe the movie is called The Blind Side. SB had a small blonde child with her. Who was THAT?!

They filmed at my office building (The Hurt Building) last week. A lunch scene at City Grille. I didn’t see them (though co-workers did).
