  1. When did Divinci’s pizza close? We ate at Green Ginger last week, saw Divinci’s was dark but the sign on the door only said they were closed for New Years. Guess they were actually already closed. #shrug

      1. they’re closed for good: http://www.tonetoatl.com/2018/01/DaVincis-Pizza-Decatur-Has-Closed.html

      1. Not really. There are better places for thai, better places for chinese and better places for Sushi in town. Every couple of years I give it another shot, and each time I am reminded of why I haven’t dined there in a long time.

  2. What happened to the trees on the courthouse Square. They have been butchered. The damage to the Magnolias can never be recovered. I saw the movie people up there filming. Did they do this?

    1. From Decaturish….http://www.decaturish.com/2018/01/dekalb-county-unsure-which-contractor-hacked-limbs-off-trees-at-historic-courthouse/

    2. Decaturish has, an article on what happened to trees.
Was not movie people but they are investigating with dekalb county on who was responsible for the botching of the trees.

  3. Magnolias, Hollies, Elm all butchered on the square on Christmas EVE Why???

  4. So did they ever get the roof of Mercedes Benz Stadium to close, and will the stadium be heated for the big game on Monday? Or will 100,000 people be sitting there in 20-30 degree weather in seats with ice on them?

    1. It’s only been opened once and that was not for a game. Look at the pics – it’s closed all the time for now.

  5. Hopefully it has heat (and air conditioning). Imagine the heating bill to heat millions of cubic feet of open space like that.

  6. Does anyone have any info on the story about Decatur Police asking residents to register their home security cameras to provide info on local neighborhood crime?
    http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/decatur-police-could-soon-ask-neighbor-to-register-home-surveillance-cameras/675627859.

    1. A survey was posted on NextDoor and Decaturish. I don’t think there’s any more info on it. It would be voluntary and meant to assist in solving crimes or identifying suspects. For example, if my neighbor gets broken into, my camera’s recording may be helpful if it catches a suspect walking by. Sounds like a great idea to me.
