Me and a few friends tried Brush the other evening. Great cocktails, but the food wasn’t all that memorable, especially for the price. We’re not totally writing it off, just wasn’t wowed by the whole experience.
We ate there a couple weeks ago and did the omakase — it certainly wowed us.
Agree about Brush. Also, they had a trainee working the bar on a Friday evening–not a good idea. It’s not fun for the customer when an employee has to go get someone else to answer questions about food and drinks–every single time.
We have been twice. We’ve enjoyed the food, but service has been shaky.
As someone who has twice driven to the county tag office on my birthday 🙂 I welcome our new kiosk overlords. As long as that darn tag sticker gets dispensed.
Robert, you can do it by mail. They are pretty prompt and I have always mailed mine in about a week beforehand.
Online is easiest. I tried to use the kiosk but the renewal the county sent me didn’t have the correct bar-code for the kiosk to work.
Mailing costs less then online, even when you have to pay for a stamp.
I don’t even pay for the stamp. Use online bill pay so the bank pays the postage.
Have been to Brush twice now. Great food and great drinks! They are still working on timing (a few dishes took a long time to arrive), but the vibe and energy are great and everyone is very friendly.
We went to Brush shortly after they opened and ended up a little annoyed that they seated us before they told us they didn’t have their booze license yet. But we did stay and ordered some sushi rolls that were seriously delicious.
The only thing I’d recommend is that I found the menu to be kind of complicated. Hard to explain exactly how but I got the feeling there were options priced fairly consistently with most other sushi places but it was hard to decipher where they were. What kept jumping out were these big smorgasbord-like options running $75-$150 (possibly per person but, again, not immediately clear).
Now that they’re pouring, I’ll be back. But I’ll probably give their menu a closer look online to figure out why I had such a hard time navigating it. Probably just me, but that’s all I got to work with.
