I love Alton Brown.
I like him so much more now that I’ve read this interview!
How many more live/work projects can Atlanta really sustain? How many more restaurants can Ford Fry open?
What is different re: ga beer laws outlined in that article?
Not much. The big difference is being able to set different tour prices that correlate to you being able to take home a little bit of beer from the brewery. This was passed last year, but the DOR stepped in and said this could not be done. They fixed that this year. The other items are letting the public know where you can buy their beers (this was not allowed before), letting them sell tickets to events at the brewery, and for the brewery to be allowed to sell food (vague as to what exactly this means).
Overall, not much changed but a step in the right direction.
On a side note, the Alabama legislature passed an ordinance this year allowing folks to take home up to a case of beer from a brewery. Not “tour” nonsense involved. They already allowed you to go to a brewery and order a pint like any other bar. Yup, Alabama is far ahead of us on this. Ugh.
