Question on the road repair article:
Is it true that state law caps sales tax at 8%?
More evidence that SPLOSTs are a terrible idea and need to be done away with. Why take the time to budget (i.e., make real choices and trade-offs in spending) when you can just hit the voters up for more money? Keeping the roads in decent repair is a pretty basic function of a county government, and now DeKalb is now telling us they can’t do it without ANOTHER tax hike. This after assessments (and hence taxes) surged this year in DeKalb Co.
