Re: Ridgecrest & Ponce: “I should have called the police then but I didn’t realize the extent of the damage”
There should never be any question about calling the PD. Let them figure out whether the damage warrants further action.
Re: restaurant for sale: Is this the same place that was much discussed a few months ago?
square pub?
Colbeh?
Could it be Parker’s on Ponce? They’re never so busy.
I don’t think Parkers has 20 beer taps. They have about 6.
My guess is Parker’s. Great visibility, check. Seats 100, check. Outdoor seating, check. Stunning buildout, check. There are actually two bars so I can believe they have close to 20 beer taps.
Brick walls: uncheck. I think Parker”s capacity is somewhat larger than 100. Colbeh has at least 17 draft beers on its menu and brick walls. If I were to place a bet it would be on Colbeh.
I am also wrong about the two bars. I was thinking about when it used to be Mick’s. Parker’s does have some brick but not nearly as much as Colbeh. I formally withdraw my wild speculatIons.
Too bad if it’s Colbeh. We loved the food when it first opened and went a lot. But then it started to push its bar scene and it got awfully noisy for us so we stopped going as much. Maybe others did too. I know restaurants need alcohol for the profit but there’s lots of competition for the noisy bar scene. I could use more quiet, cozy restaurants like Café Alsace, Calle Latina, and what Colbeh used to be.
thank you for the article on sound and how we experience it. Fascinating on the face of the subject and also the embedding of video within an online article…..first time I’ve seen that
