Seems like Mother Nature has taken things to a whole new level of weird today.
We’re off for the next couple of days and there will be no FFAF tomorrow, so feel free to use this post for all your holiday greetings and cheer. Or if you have a question about local establishments that might be open tomorrow, you can post them here. Etc, etc.
And speaking of gifts, here are a couple of small, virtual ones for you.
I woke up this morning to find John, Paul, George and Ringo in my Spotify account. Apparently much of the The Beatles music is available on most streaming services starting today. So cue up some Sgt. Pepper and rock through all that last minute Christmas prep.
Also, I’m still looking for a couple of final recipes to round out our Christmas Day menu and, as usual, the NYT’s revamped cooking site hasn’t disappointed. Bacon Fat Gingersnaps. Cranberry Linzer Torte. Chocolate Whiskey Cake.
Also, check out NYT Sam Sifton’s “The 12 Recipes of Christmas” post for recipe ideas and for some ideas to add a little more structure to your eating schedule the next few days. And here’s their curated list of “Recipes for a 70 degree Christmas” too!
Happy Holidays all!

And so, as Tiny Tim said, “A Merry Christmas to us all; God bless us, every one!”
Charles Dickens
For many years now, my favorite December day has been the 26th, and what a great one this year! Met friends in Decatur and sat OUTSIDE for a late night dinner at Victory, including a round of Jack and Coke SLUSHIES. I like seasons, but it would be easy to get used to mid-70s in December.
Yep. Until its 115 in July.
Well aren’t you just a ray of sunshine. 🙂
