The owl we posted a pic of earlier today on East Hill Street was apparently injured. The Friends of Dearborn Park wrote in and let us know that Paula and some “kind joggers” spotted the owl on Midway Road and called the folks at Atlanta Wildlife Animal Rescue Effort (AWARE). A volunteer quickly came out and rescued the little guy. According to their note, “The juvenile owl was emaciated, but will be cared for and I assume put back in the wild.”
Horray! We love when owls get rescued. Our injured owl, “Hootie”, from way back in 2009 was rehabbed at the Chattahoochee Nature Center for four weeks before being released back into the wild.

Fantastic story. I’m putting AWARE into my phone right now.
I love happy endings!!! That little owl is ridiculously cute. So glad it will have a chance at survival now.
He looks pretty surprised in that picture. Crop him out and he’d make a good meme picture!
