Owners of Noodle Sell to South Carolina Restaurateur

Daren passes along this note from the owners of Noodle in downtown Decatur…

    Dear Decatur Community,

We’re excited to announce that our Noodle Restaurant in Decatur has been sold to Greenville, SC restaurateur Gordon Li.  Noodle Decatur was our first restaurant, and we are thrilled to see it passed on to such capable hands. Gordon’s fresh new take on Noodle is going to thrill our long-time friends in Decatur and excite a whole new crowd of customers.

We have felt privileged to be a part of the Decatur business community since we opened Noodle, and we are thankful for the support of all of our friends in and around the city.  And although we will no longer be serving you at this Noodle location, we all still live here and are happy to count many of our customers as neighbors.

Thanks,  Decatur,  for fifteen great years,

    Lenny, Lily, and Lena Shou

So it will still be Noodle, but different owners? I hope the prices remain reasonable.

Yes, it will remain “Noodle”. From the conversation I had with Lenny, I wouldn’t expect any drastic changes on price.

Been noodling there since day one. The concept needs a fresh start given the vastly evolved food scene in Decatur.

Agreed. I’ve always enjoyed Noodle — and while I think it remains well-positioned, it could use a push. Looking forward to seeing what the new owner will do with it.

Agree. Food is boring and the service is dreadful. Would try it once a year and be reminded why I didn’t go there.

Noodle is my 8-year-old’s favorite place. We love the friendly, fast service and we always enjoy the food. Still miss the original Thai peanut noodles, but the fried rice has taken its place, somewhat. Good luck to the old owners, and the new ones.

Maybe they will bring back basil rolls.

I haven’t gone back since they got rid of the green curry. But the potential for positive changes is a reason to revisit.
