  1. That five year Dekalb property tax freeze bill is a really big deal, freezing the appraised value. This senior is super excited especially since the measure to increase age related exemptions failed.

    1. The article says that the freeze had been in place for 5 years. I’m thinking this must have been only for county and not city residents as my assessed value has gone up in those years… Does anyone have some details on this?

      1. Decatur uses County assessments. It does not have its own assessor and hasn’t for 20 years.

        1. Thanks, yes I know. I’m just trying to see if the freeze treated/treats CoD residents differently than County residents, as I know of many CoD people with raises in assessed value without sale or permitted improvements since 2007.
