What, the demand is not overwhelming for a streetcar that goes no where & takes forever to get there? Your tax dollars at work!
You beat me to it, Mic. And keep in mind that they streetcar announced just a few weeks ago that its operating costs are far higher than projected, too. Yet the author’s suggestions are to increase frequency (i.e., increase costs) and give away more freebies to riders (i.e., decrease revenue).
It all reminds me of the classic Onion bit, “The Money Hole.”
I had to click on the “Atlanta ranks as #3 most wildlife friendly city [NWF]” link to see if it was about human or animal wildlife.
If you’re curious, it’s animal. With a great picture of a mountain lion (or puma, panther, cougar, catamount, lynx, depending on what part of the country you’re in).
Re Westchester neighborhood traffic slowing–I’m assuming that 11 Alive made a mistake when it said that the 11 year old attended Westchester Elementary. At age 11, she’d be at Fifth Avenue 4/5 right? But she probably has to deal with traffic to walk to bus stop to wait for bus to 4/5.
We have a noticeable increase in cut-through speeders on Garden Lane, too. Mr. Boykin, can you help us out?
