Clicked on the “homebuyers” link and saw the following:
[B]ased on MLS research, the average Decatur single-family home sales price last quarter increased $70,000 from the same time last year, from $459,000 to $534,000.
Wow. I didn’t realize things were going quite that crazy. (I knew that things were going somewhat crazy, but not that crazy.) Obviously, this isn’t the same as the average home value in Decatur, because the new sale price is going to have a disproportionate share of new (and gigantic) construction / extensively expanded houses in the $600K-$1M range, but still…
Another mayor resigns in close proximity to a big annexation push. Rather different circumstances, I suppose.
