The Decatur Beer festival announced this morning that they will be offering 300 $100 VIP tickets to the October 18th event.
A summary in the latest Decatur Focus – not yet online – states that VIPs will be let into the Festival an hour early at 11a, receive exclusive craft beers, have an “exclusive” entrance and receive complementary snacks. All this same info is shown throughout the graphic shown above.
Reminder: the non-exclusive $40 tickets go on sale next Monday at noon and will likely sell out in 15-20 minutes if prior years are any indication.
Great, another reminder of the income/wealth inequality in this here country. Not everyone can afford $100, Decatur! Some progressive city you are…
If everyone could afford it, they’d have to call it the Very Regular Person ticket.
Where is the “Compassion”?
Part of the money from the beer fest goes to local charitable organizations.
Forgot. There is the “compassion” without using my tax dollars. Good job.
Pay more than double the regular price, receive “complimentary” snacks! Also, all-you-can breathe air included at no extra charge.
I’m usually eating pretzels off the ground by the end of the day, so I already get free snacks…
I think this is totally silly and unnecessary. Unless, of course, the tickets I already bought through the DeKalb History Center silent auction are redeemable for VIP tickets…
These perks are about as exciting as a Delta Sky Club membership.
How about exclusive bathroom rights in an air-conditioned commode facility? Porta potty with the commoners? Gross.
Let me tell you if you have ever gone to the East Atlanta Beer Fest the VIP tickets are well worth the extra cash. The private bathrooms alone are worth $20 but the really cool part is that they have a whole section of specialty beers and drinks that the rest of the people cannot get or do not have access to. it sounds expensive but and the East Atlanta one is not Double it is like $35 more a ticket but well worth it if you are a true beer fan. Not a cheep date but knowing the Brick Store Boys it will be worth the costs
Decatur Beer Festival for me was like Mardi Gras. Once was enough.
These will sell out in 5 minutes.
Indeed, don’t get me wrong, I think it is going to be an outstanding add on. I’d imagine will be great food and some hi-falutin beers. Wouldn’t surprise me if there is some special bathroom privilege as well…
