Like the Bloodhound Gang if you must, but you should know that they didn’t write that… not by a long shot.

I’m aware, they’re just my style. It’s the same as “throwing in your hands and waving them like you just don’t care.”

Why is water being squirted? Was the demolition done by explosives? Or is the water to keep the dust down?

        To keep the dust down.

That place always said they were going out of business and this time I’m inclined to believe them.

Maybe that was the name of the business, like the place in You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.

Is it too late to play a couple of games at Suburban Lanes?

      • Scott says:
        July 11, 2014 at 11:43 am

Unless things have changed, I believe the beloved Lanes will be sticking around.

Suburban Lanes is staying and from what I’ve heard they’re getting a nice remodel from Selig.

      Good riddance –
I’m not looking forward to the long months of construction, but any redevelopment of that eyesore corner is welcome (Even if it’s for wal*mart.)

Does anyone know what’s happening to Big Lots or the Moe’s strip at the corner of Church and North Decatur?

      • Mic says:
        July 11, 2014 at 4:53 pm

The manager of Big Lots told me awhile ago that the new development was going up to, but not including BL.

I know Golden Beauty Supply is moving downstairs… seems there will be a whole subterranean shopping center under the Wal-Mart? Meanwhile everything there is on sale cheap, FYI.

“Downstairs” could mean the shops over on the Church street end by the bowling alley entrance. I think most of them are currently vacant. As far as I know, all that’s going to be under the Walmart is parking (like the one at P’Tree Industrial and Clairmont).

      Nope. Starbucks is going there.

For more on development at North Decatur, Scott and Church Street, have you seen this? http://origin.library.constantcontact.com/download/get/file/1116905619312-5/Medlock+Road+Factsheet.pdf.
Medline Livable Centers Initiative (LCI). No more Patel Plaza, no more old car dealerships, no more CVS and ManorCare either.

      • AMB says:
        July 12, 2014 at 11:54 am

The Medline LCI doesn’t call for getting rid of any of those places except the abandoned car dealerships.
