Updated: Fresh To Order Taking Over Old Hola Space

    Decatur Metro | June 2, 2014 | 9:33 am

Update: Interesting new info from Decaturish…

“No other Fresh To Order is going to look like the Decatur Fresh To Order,” Panos said. “I’m specifically creating a new look and feel for that concept. I’m calling it F3O because it’s so different to the look and feel of our other stores, because it is special.”

Rumors are swirling – according to FFAF – and now Tomorrow’s News Today is now reporting that “well-placed” sources say that Fresh To Order is coming to downtown Decatur…

According to well placed sources, Atlanta-based Fresh To Order (aka F2o) has signed a lease to open a new restaurant in Decatur.  The growing “fine-fresh” restaurant plans to open later this year in place of the shuttered Hola! Mexican Cantina.  The space sits at the high traffic / high visibility corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Church Street, adjacent to Noodle and across from Leon’s Full Service.

Strong addition to downtown decatur. Takeout game changer.

Hopefully they will validate parking or something. I love getting takeout from Noodle but hate the parking situation.

Don’t know about “organic” but it’s a local chain with around 8 locations.

EIGHT locations? Ugh. It might as well be Walmart or McDonald’s then. Amirite?

Speaking of Walmart and locals: I got to chatting w/ a garden nursery rep at the Memorial Dr Walmart last week, and she said that during her last couple of visits she’s had folks come up to her bitching about Walmart coming to Suburban Plaza– WHILE FILLING THEIR CARTS UP WITH PLANTS!!! :0)

They are a franchisor with currently 12 locations. I am not sure how many if any are company owned.
I used to frequent the one in Midtown when I lived there and enjoyed it.

I’ll be cool as long as I can complain about the paint or other aesthetics.

YESSSSSSS!!! I may never get my wish for a Laughing Seed in Decatur, but having that space taken by what could be a real going concern makes up for it a bit. That patio’s too good to be left unused.

+1 for Laughing Seed in Decatur

Nah. If we’re looking to bring a vegetarian restaurant to Decatur, let’s start with The Grit. And if it’s an Asheville connection you want, Tupelo Honey is what we need!

          June 2, 2014 at 1:51 pm

I DREAM of a Grit outpost that I could walk to. Heaven.

I could get on board with The Grit, but honestly–Tupelo Honey is way too inconsistent. It’s turning into a tourist trap. The Seed isn’t a “Southern”-type vegetarian place anyway, so I’d be happy to have both it AND The Grit!

+50 for Tupelo Honey…to my weight if it were here.

Never been to a F2O, but at least it sounds like a business that will last longer than the length of time it takes to renovate the space.

      Let’s hope this one sticks!

There’s one at Emory Pointe….always packed/popular with CDC/Emory lunch crowds. Good catering too, for lunch meetings

This sounds like it may be the kind of place that attracts both locals and people here on business during lunch. Now if only the 3 in F3O meant the addition of breakfast…
