For the most part they’re right
But look how they all got strong
        That’s why I say
        Hey man, nice shot

Same thing happened at my school. They wouldn’t let us play dodge-ball again after that.

. . . and that was the last nail in the coffin of “Burrito Lunch Friday”

That was such a charming little school. It had a great playground, the forest on either side, and the awesome science center across the street. Such resources for such a little school. It must have been a great experience for the students.

It’s going to become a school again, right? It’s just being renovated/expanded, right?

Yes, just bigger. I realize my nostalgia is silly.

            I share your nostalgia.

Wasn’t it just renovated a couple of years ago?

A gym and a few classrooms were added on about eight years ago. A new, larger building will be in its place, theoretically for the start of the 2015 school year. It seems a shame — I believe the school was built in 1953 and was still in reasonable shape — and I have no idea why they waited until the building had been vacant ten months before starting demolition. The good news is that DeKalb County listend to concerns of neighbors during the final design process, a move that should preserve more trees and make for a more attractive community school.

Phew. I thought Cobb County had made an offer.
