Peg Bumgardner Congratulates Garrett Goebel and Thanks Decatur

    Decatur Metro | November 10, 2011 | 9:43 am

Peg Bumgardner sends in this note…

Due to a death in the family and travel Wednesday, I was unable to send my congratulations publicly to Garrett for his win. It was refreshing to have a positive election process that allowed us to bubble school issues to the top of conversations.

Friends, neighbors, supporters, and Decaturites, thank you for the opportunity to get to know more about you, your thoughts, ideas and concerns. I look forward to continuing to serve all the children of Decatur, as I always have.

I wish Garrett all the best.

    Peg

Classy campaign, classy candidate who I hope we’ll continue to see in leadership roles around Decatur. My sympathy for the family loss.

I would have +1 AHID’s comments, but that felt too minimalistic. Peg, I’m sorry for your loss and with the best for you and your family.

While I supported Garrett, I would have been proud to have Peg represent me. This election really gave the voters the choice between cherry and apple pie. Either way, we still get pie and it’s all good, right?

Any chance we could nudge our local politicians to run for national office?
