Love Community BBQ and enjoy Cakes and Ale when we’re up for expensive. Tried Leon’s for the first time recently and loved it. For some reason, the impression I had gotten from the street walking by was that it would be more about drinking and less about good food. Loved the food.
I love all of the Decatur spots listed, but I have to give a shout to Gu’s Bistro in Doraville. We tried it recently, and hubs and I cannot WAIT to go back. The cravings for their Chengdu noodles have gotten intense!
And, since it’s BYOB, we can afford to go a little more often. I cannot imagine eating food so spicy (it’s not all spicy, but our favorite dishes were) and flavorful without a great beer to wash it down!
I really wanted to like Leon’s, but I got food poisoning after eating there (either from the salad or from a dipping sauce, I assume). I had never had food poisoning before. it was violent and scary. One could get food poisoning from any restaurant, though, so I don’t hold it against them.
