Oh is that view familiar! Been there way too many times, e.g. late for work event, late to pick up kids from Zoo Camp. That’s when I wish I’d bought the helicopter option for the minivan instead of the roof rack. On the other hand, toddlers love this view
ha! After years of experiencing this, I’ve learned to turn around if possible and take the the turn down to east lake, then make a right by the marta station parking on the college ave side of the tracks, take it over to rocky ford and then turn back onto howard/dekalb ave!

I have tried that many times (when I used to drive more) but usually I arrived at Rocky Ford about the same time the train cleared DeKalb and the traffic light would be red. Just relax….
also, what dealer can install this helicopter option you speak of? i’d love one!
