Nathalie’s Fish House Not Closed; Reopens Wednesday

    Decatur Metro | June 8, 2010 | 9:47 am

A rumor I helped propagate after two separate confirmations doesn’t seem to be true.

While the interior of Natalie’s Fish House may have been in a bit of disarray recently, it’s not because they’ve closed up shop.  The chalkboard sign outside the restaurant states that they are closed for renovations and will reopen tomorrow.

    Apologies for any confusion.

Great News! Glad to read it!

Hmmm…given the almost universally negative recollections Natalie’s garnered in the comments following the premature report of its demise, I’m hesitant to call this good news. But I’m sure some will be pleased, and as we’ve said many times before, even a mediocre business is better than empty retail space.

Guess I’m banking on the folks at Natalie’s to have been inspired enough by the positive comments to immediately fix the callouts. ( Could’ve been part of the reason for the temporary closing.)

Fresh start! I wish them well!

If it is in fact under new management or existing management has had a revelatory moment, then I will certainly give them a chance to improve themselves. But I’m wary, as I’ve seen too many businesses throw up a “UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT” sign that should more accurately read, “GIVE US ONE MORE CHANCE TO LET YOU DOWN!”

Gotta confess that when I see “UNDER NEW MGT” signs, I always think: ” Wow! Things must’ve really gotten past the point of baaad before!!!” Why do folks broadcast it?

My dad & I had a very enjoyable lunch there in May– tasty shrimp & friendly service. Business was slow for a Friday lunch. ( I didn’t observe any issues. )

Hopefully, 3rd time’s the charm for this seafood location!

Case in point: The Decatur Goodyear has an “Under New Management” sign up as we speak. And we all remember what went down over there…

They need to put up a “FIRED THE WHOLE DAMN STAFF!!!” sign.

CBS did a undercover follow-up last month. Same danged culprits in the video– same danged results! A crook is a crook is a crook!

Well, at least that whole debacle led to us discovering Quantum Mechanics, who we love.

I am almost certain this is a new owner and new management. Let’s give them a chance to do better than the last folks.

If it’s as you believe, then I wholeheartedly wish them well. It’d be nice not to have to go to Buford Highway to sate a fried seafood jones.

I’m glad for a seafood place in Decatur. I just hope they’ve given the place a good scrubbing and hired new staff.

Crap! I just threw out a $25 gift certificate from Nathalie’s because I read your article!

Dang. Sorry John! What can I do to make it up to you?

No worries, that kind of thing is my fault! Don’t you learn that in first grade? That you shouldn’t believe everything that you read? haha
