      Marietta– isn’t that sad??

Interestingly enough, The city line runs through my property, so both Decatur and DeKalb County. My child, however, goes to Fernbank and I pay the majority of my (lower) taxes to DeKalb County. Thanks, y’all, for not annexing me… do to my proximity to the Publix, I wouldn’t have even gotten to vote on it.

Oops, that’s “due to the proximity.” Not representing Fernbank too well, there.

one demographic distinction that you might be missing, those of us who live outside Decatur but come here to work every day (call us the commuters)

Hey…I live in Marietta (downtown) now and it isn’t sad! Just last nite went to the Marietta Museum for martini event, then walked across the lovely square to the newly refurbished Strand Theatre to watch CITiZEN KANE on the big screen.

Now Smyrna is sad…just kidding…hello to all my buds in Decatur…I can’t break my addiction to reading this blog…

So it looks like 90% of readers live in the city of Decatur or DeKalb County. Not all that surprising I suppose.

I’m thrilled that nearly 30% come from DeKalb…not something I would have predicted early on, since my coverage of DeKalb politics/events is spotty at best. But Howard is right…I wasn’t thinking about those that work in Decatur – or even just play – but don’t live here.

      Thanks to all my readers!

I wonder how many in the tiny territory of DON’T live in City of Decatur but DO live in 30030?

DM, I lived my whole adult life in Decatur, but just moved this past summer 4 miles down the road to Avondale. Although I no longer live in Decatur, I will ALWAYS be a Decatur Girl at heart. Thanks for this blog that keeps me in the loop!

PS It was emotionally hard for me to put my mark next to “Dekalb County” instead of “City of Decatur” in your poll.

Sorry Kathy! I think it says a lot about Decatur that people who used to live here still like to stay up-to-date on what’s going on in the city.

      Thanks for voting!
