On Wednesday, Nov. 19, DeKalb County Police responded to a report of an armed robbery incident that occurred on the sidewalk near 1685 N. Decatur Road by SunTrust Bank between 8:45 and 8:53 p.m. The victim, an Emory staff member, reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint by three men while he was walking along the sidewalk. The three assailants were all described as black males, between 18-25 years old, 5′7”-5′9″ in height and about 150-160 in weight. According to the police report, they were all wearing black jackets and blue jeans.

The victim reported that the individuals approached him on foot and initiated a conversation, then one of the individuals displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet. After taking personal items the suspects told the victim to “turn around and run.” The suspects fled the scene on foot heading east on N. Decatur Road toward Clairmont Road. The victim was uninjured.
