“No more pencils no more books
No more teacher’s dirty looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not come back at all
School’s out forever
School’s out for summer”
Alice Cooper
Everyone’s happy, they’re finally all the same
Because everyone’s jumping everybody else’s train

We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Hey teachers! Leave those kids alone!
why isn’t there a movement to get rid of the confederate memorial on the square? pretty shameful that we’re all just ignoring a monument to racism in the middle of town…
Check on Facebook. Big discussion over there.
I suspect the bullfrog knows very well about the existing buzz.
Looks like there is at least one movement beginning. See Decaturish for a letter just recently posted discussing same. There appear to be strong sentiments surrounding keeping and/or removing the memorial.
The letter writer is the same guy who started the Facebook post.
What is this memorial? I guess I’ve never looked at whatever this is closely enough to know… feeling embarrassed…
I like the new raised crosswalks in front of the courthouse, but the bollards on the angles are not spaced out enough. It’s very difficult to navigate, even worse with a stroller or dog in tow. I wonder if it’s hard for those in a wheelchair too?
(And yes Steve, I know who to email with the City, I vote in every election, and definitely would not ever run for office. I couldn’t handle the DM complainers like me!!!)
Happy Friday and Memorial Day y’all!
Let’s all support Memorial Day flags and flowers at Decatur Cemetery on Sunday at 4 to place flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes. Without them, none of us would be free.
