UPDATED: Decatur Verizon Store Broken Into Early This Morning

    police department

UPDATE:  Here’s the info on the incident from Decatur Police…

On 09-01-2015 at 3:45 am, Decatur Police responded to a burglar alarm at the Verizon Wireless store located at 335 West Ponce de Leon Avenue suite D.  Officers arrived and observed a front window shattered.  No suspects were located inside of the business.  It appeared several phones and tablets had been removed from their displays.  A check of the rear of the store showed the office door had been forced off of its hinges.  Officers located two boxes believed to have belonged to the store strewn in the roadway in the 600-800 block of West Ponce de Leon Avenue.  The criminal investigations division was notified and an investigator responded to the scene.

I ran by the Verizon store in 335 West Ponce de Leon Avenue building this morning and the glass in the front window had been smashed and a number of phones looked to be missing.

Decatur Police were already on the scene collecting evidence.  I’ve requested the police report and will post it here once it’s sent along.

A shame. Folks at this store are nice, knowledgeable, and helpful.
