Decatur Police: Phone Robbery Reported on W Ponce Sunday Afternoon
Decatur Metro | December 1, 2014 | 9:37 amFrom Decatur Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross…
On 11/30/14 at approximately 3:12 pm, Decatur Police responded to a robbery in the 200 block of West Ponce de Leon Avenue.
The victim reported she was walking and carrying her granddaughter and looking down at her phone. She observed a group of four to five black males walk past her and one of the males from the group came up behind her, pushed her and snatched her phone from her hand and dropped something else on the ground. The male then fled on foot.
Officers located two empty screwdriver packages on the ground that were later determined to have been shoplifted items from a nearby store. The victim described the suspect as a young black male wearing a white hoodie with gold writing. Further investigation revealed the identity of the suspect, a 16-year-old from Decatur, who already has outstanding warrants. Additional charges are pending.
Brazen action; suspect obviously not a proponent of the compassionate Decatur project
Then I guess we know the perpetrator is among DM’s usual commenters. DPD, you’re welcome!
Bazinga!
Don’t you mean Benghazi? This is all Obama’s fault.
Same question I posed in FFAF: Do iPhone/Android disguise cases exist? Cases that make your phone look like an old flip phone?
No amount of disguise can hide the fact that it is a smart phone with a touch screen.
I think a case with a prominent BlackBerry logo might be the best way to go
This kid(s) stole a couple of screwdrivers from a local store. They don’t appear to be discerning criminals, and they would’ve stolen it no matter what type of phone. It’s pretty disappointing that a kid would be so reckless as to push a grandmother carrying a child for something as simple as a phone, though.
