MARTA To Increase Rail Service in May
Decatur Metro | April 9, 2014 | 1:01 pm
Good news for rail riders, as summarized by the AJC…
…on the Blue and Green Lines, which run to Hamilton E. Holmes and Bankhead Stations, respectively, rush-hour service would be every 10 minutes instead of 15. And where the lines share tracks, from Ashby east to Candler Park Station, trains would run every 5 minutes during those times.Midday service on weekdays will be every 12 minutes on each of the lines, and six minutes on the trunk where the Red/Gold and Blue/Green lines merge.
Similar increases are also planned for MARTA’s north/south rail lines. Check out the AJC’s full article for details.

Many of us along Sycamore Street would appreciate it if they’d spend some of that money to replace the square wheels on their cars with round ones. Some of us riders would appreciate it, too.
Great news. FYI, their real-time train tracker is now available on both Iphones and Android, and it works quite well.
Thank you for this tip! I take MARTA all the time and didn’t know about the app – it’s fantastic!
Wonderful!!!
Good news except that it reminds me that I’m still in mourning that I don’t work on a MARTA route anymore. I loved that train ride.
I look forward to this, along with the other initiatives they have in the works. Hopefully they’ll consider running the green line all the way to Avondale Station when the TOD project is completed to capitalize on its potential for ridership gains.
