DHS Grad Killed in Southeast Atlanta Last Night

    Decatur Metro | October 7, 2011 | 2:57 pm

Connor points out that the victim in this WSB/AJC report of a shooting on Glenwood Avenue, DuJon Parker, was a 2010 Decatur High School graduate, who played on the school’s basketball team.

Our thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Thanks for this information so we can be prepared to talk with our CSD students, many of whom will know this young man through basketball.

Please send your prayers to this family. DuJon was a good and well mannered kid. His mother is my son’s teacher at his daycare and she’s a wonderful woman. DuJon was her only son and I am devastated for her. Thank you.

That corner near Glenwood and Second is becoming very notorious. There was another shooting at the convenience store next to the gas station fairly recently.

I know the Atlanta police are on it. But you can’t be there 24-7. I just hope we don’t lose the progress made over a decade because of this.
