Arts Event on the Square in Downtown Decatur, Georgia
Saturday, September 26, 2015, Noon-4 p.m.
The Decatur Arts Alliance is celebrating YEA! (Young Emerging Artists) for the third year. This one-day artists market highlights the creative work of young local artists and musicians grades K-12. On Saturday, September 26th, artists will have booths on the square in Downtown Decatur to showcase their creative works for sale while musicians perform on the bandstand. The young artists gain practical experience in event organization, marketing, and sales of their artwork. The festival will take place from noon-4p.m.
“YEA! has become an important event in Decatur because it focuses on young emerging talents in visual arts and music,” says Angie Macon, executive director of the Decatur Arts Alliance. “Our goal is for our young emerging artists to have an outstanding experience participating in a community event, interacting on the downtown square with art lovers, family and neighbors. We want them to feel welcome as ongoing participants in the Decatur arts scene.”
This event is made possible by the support of our sponsors Wells Fargo and the Allstate Foundation.
The application deadline for the YEA! Artist Market is August 25, 2015. Artists and musicians may apply as individuals or as groups. Applications for the artist market and the musical stage are available online at decaturartsalliance.org.
