Well, considering the angle at which the picture is taken, I’m fairly certain that the mound of mulch is several yards if not 10 yards or more in front of the tree that is in the background.

That’s the Rec in the background, I think, and the mulch is our old chipped up xmas trees. I have a feeling that pile is temporary and that mulch will be dispersed and not left to rot the tree. If it does rot the tree and it falls, what impact will it have on the tree canopy calculation?
