Thanks GB. Maybe not exciting but for me, interesting. Notice the guys with the bag and sprayer. Whatever they were doing sealed the paint so that vehicles could roll over the surface with no damage. How could that be? (Eighties Joke. Most will not understand).
Speaking of interesting... Back in the day, some may recall old guys sitting near the courthouse, or some other well known Decatur building, just watching things go by and saying, "How You Doin'" to those who passed by. Now I doubt that I can survive long enough to do this but it might be interesting to be a REAL OLD GEEZER, sitting in front of the Brick Store or other famous building, and well, doing what old Southern gentlemen did, saying hello to all the youngins and watching the world go by.

It may have been well chosen, but not for the purpose of preventing jaywalking. It's perfectly legal to cross Ponce anywhere between Decatur CD and Ponce Place outside of a crosswalk because it is not "between adjacent intersections at which traffic-control signals are in operation",(see OCGA 40-6-92), so long as the pedestrian isn't darting in front of a car or otherwise impeding traffic or causing a dangerous condition.

I must say, the one that went in on Ponce just east of Decatur CD is in a prime former jaywalking spot. I'll admit that I have jaywalked at exactly that spot myself in the past. So, well chosen by whoever located it. Hopefully will make for a safer and more convenient crossing.
