He reminds me of an Old School Yankee Democrat: like-able, family man, willing to listen, understands small business, can both tell and listen to a good story or joke, and feels confortable around all kinds of racial, income, political and gender groups. I would like him more if he would support less spending, restrict the strategic planners, and question green and smart growth groupies but he might be the best a conservative can hope for in Decatur politics.
I hope people don’t see this as an endorsement. My support would truely be the kiss of death for any Decatur candidate. But I do wish Mr. Boykin well and look forward to the campaign.

Mr. Boykin, since you mention specifically that you believe the tree ordinance is one that needs to be updated, I would be curious as to how exactly you would update it if it were up to you. I’m looking forward to seeing that discuused on your campaign website to see how you balance this type of ordinance with property rights.
