The happy hour special at certain upper Midwest taverns when I was in college (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth): a schooner of beer, large bowl of homemade soup, and all the pot cheese & crackers you could eat, all for 90 cents. It was a particularly good value compared to what they were serving up in the campus dining hall at any given time.

Costco has a nice horseradish cheddar. It is a BIG hunk o’ cheese, but might do as a replacement!

Am I allowed to make a food request post for some point in the future when you run out of best for the money ideas?

We need some sandwich ideas to break the monotony of turkey and swiss. Anyone have anything interesting and easy? Different bread (homemade?) or homemade garlic mayo?

Also, olive oil? What’s the best you have used? I’m willing to splurge on that.

YDFM carries Hook’s cheese in different varieties, which is a premium brand that is reasonably priced. If I may digress b/c YDFM only has very bland provolone, can anyone recommend a place, like a good Italian deli, where you can find a wedge of tangy provolone cheese?
