Seriously, New Jersey IS the “Garden State”, ironic as that may be. It has parts that are pretty pastoral. Why they never noticed the grape producing capacity, I don’t know. I do know that my great-grandmother and great-aunts in fairly urbanStamford, Connecticut had a teeny vineyard in their backyard. I only remember them making jam, but who knows……..

Isn’t that enough? I find it difficult to believe that any part of NJ, which has been settled far longer than California, is perfect for growing grapes, and no one noticed it until now.
