-Electric mowers, yes. Gas powered, no. Remember, electronics is anything operated by electricity or batteries. Gas and oil operated equipment is more appropriately recycled by steel recyclers. If your electric leaf blower and hedge trimmer no longer work, bring them on Sat. the 2nd ! : )

- Microwaves are perfectly safe to recycle. They generally fall into the ‘white goods’ category of products including major kitchen appliances and laundry equipment. Microwaves were the last of these to come along and has had a problem finding it’s correct designation. It has finally settled in white goods. Those items are more appropriately recycled by local steel recyclers as opposed to electronics recyclers. So recycle your microwave! : )
-Main frame computers are perfectly acceptable. If you have a large one and need help moving, hauling or recycling it, the recycler for this event will be glad to help.
-Telephony “encompasses the general use of equipment to provide communication over distances, specifically by connecting telephones to each other”. (Wikipedia) Cell phones, old switch and cell tower equipment, etc.

This is causing me to have questions I never knew I had:
- Why not microwaves? Are they really as dangerous as some claim? And if you can't recycle them, what can you do with them?
- Main frames? People have main frames sitting around waiting to be recycled? Don't they take up entire rooms and have to be store at cool temperatures?
- What is telephony equipment? Or for that matter, telephony? Not to be confused with ESP, telepathy, right?
- Electric, but not gas or hand-pushed, lawn mowers? So electric lawn mowers are more like computers than motors?
- But garden equipment is ok? This totally confuses me. I thought the theme was electronics. None of my garden equipment plugs in except the leaf blower and hedge trimmer. And even those seem much more like motors than electronics. But a microwave doesn't count? Do they offer industrial arts/shop at Evening at Emory? I think I need it.
