We can debate the definition of “big,” but this is certainly not the first significant solar installation in Georgia. That would be the Hickory Ridge Landfill solar installation just south of Atlanta, a one-megawatt (enough to power 224 homes) solar plant built on top of a closed landfill using flexible photovoltaic panels attached to the membrane covering the landfill. Opened last year. I covered it personally and have visited it twice. That is really wonderful. Actually a bit illuminating for somebody who hasn’t been in a “hard science” classroom for several decades. (Unlike listening to physics Nobel prize winner on “Fresh Air” last fall — trying to grasp his explanation of why they now think the expansion of the universe is accelerating, and how they figured it out, gave me a brain cramp.)

Besides being a ambulance chasing attorney, I also have, believe it or not, a PhD in molecular biology. And even I am not ashamed to admit that I have no idea what this Higgy-Bison particle is all about. In fact, I’m convinced that the entirety of modern physics is a scam and that the only Nobel Prize these jokers should be vying for is the one for fiction!
